With over two decades of experience in personal development, Laura “Kirtan” Marcotte is a yoga teacher and conscious living expert who takes the timeless wisdom of yoga and makes it powerfully accessible to all.
Steeped in both Kundalini and Hatha yoga and a recognized specialist in yoga for addiction and recovery, Laura has spent thousands of hours teaching clients in every stage of recovery, working as an occupational therapist at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California, and Promises Treatment Center in Austin, Texas.
Laura has served as faculty in an internationally renowned Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Program since 2008 and currently leads comprehensive programs in Therapeutic Yoga for Addiction and Recovery and Teaching Yoga to Children and Adolescents. Her passion for teaching and empowering children of all ages inspired her, as a mother of two young sons in 2006, to design and develop the yoga curriculum currently used by the Austin Independent School District for grades K-12.
Now the mother of two grown men, Laura lives with her husband in Austin, Texas, teaches teachers, public classes, and works with clients privately. She offers monthly healing events incorporating gongs, crystal bowls, chimes, mindfulness, movement, meditation, community, and fun. Laura finds courage and joy in her daily meditation practice. Her mission is to share yoga as a simple, practical tool that brings grace and ease to everyday life.
