Meditation Beginners Series

with Katie McBrearty-Shields

Meditation at its core is the training, directing, or focusing of attention in a deliberate way. In this Beginners Series Katie will introduce you to several methods of meditation. Once you complete this series you will have a better understanding of meditation so that you can feel comfortable practicing in weekly classes or on your own.

In each session, students will be doing mindful movement, followed by 20 minutes of guided and silent meditation. There will be a short talk on the different styles, understandings, and benefits of the practice, finishing with questions and answers.
