Denise Gutierrez

Denise teaches yoga from the bottom of her heart. Sharing her passion and the healing power of yoga inspires and motivates her.

Denise was raised bilingual in Austin. After graduating from college, she worked and traveled, and somewhere along the way, yoga found her and caught her heart. Since yoga entered her life in 2013, it’s been her grounding, guiding, and loving light. As a child, she knew she was called to be a teacher… but it wasn’t until yoga that she remembered this calling.

Denise teaches all ages from the youngest yogis learning to play yoga, to adults seeking a mindful yoga practice. She believes that to create change in the future of our world, we must empower our youth. Growing up around many young kiddos throughout her life, she kept close to her inner child and loves tapping into it as she delves into adventures with the kids in her yoga classes. Her classes for younger yogis are filled with games, movement, songs, and laughter to make for a fun time playing yoga. Her adult classes carry a calming cadence, are low to the ground, and are focused on connecting with the breath. She has a blast teaching yoga in both English and Spanish.

Denise is certified at the 500-hour level, she trained at Practice Yoga Austin. She also completed the 30-hour kids yoga training at The Little Yoga House. She obtained a Master of Science in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Texas at Austin, where she focused her research on the benefits of mindfulness and yoga in children.

Denise is also known as Mama to her incredible toddler, who attends the Yoga Peace School. She is passionate about contributing to raising another generation of mindful yogis. She is also a Career Coach and founded her own company, Heart Light Moves, where she supports and empowers individuals to discover their next best step in their career. She is community-focused in everything she does and loves welcoming new mamas into the wonderful and wild journey of motherhood.

She is honored and grateful for the opportunity to spread love through yoga and is constantly inspired by her toddler, husband, mothers, teachers, and students.
